TELL US ABOUT YOUR BIG IDEA... Renewed Resilience is a new community, launching July 2021, for women providing support, guidance and solutions for their depression, anxiety and overall mental wellness. Renewed Resilience collaborates with mental health practitioners and wellness practitioners to help support women’s health offering a more holistic approach to mental wellness and creating a safe space where women can come and be themselves without judgement. Inside Renewed Resilience you will find: Support: Consisting of in-house counselors, meditation studio, mental health workshops, connection-based workshops and events. Boutique: The Renewed Boutique launched in May 2021 specializes in mental and physical wellness products that helps promote self-care and personal growth. Five percent of all monthly proceeds go to the Renewed Community Fund which helps local women who struggle with mental health & economic adversities. For example: - If there is a new mom struggling with postpartum depression, Renewed Resilience will hire a postpartum coach to visit them at home to help them through their struggles. - If there is a woman that needs help writing a resume or getting an outfit for an interview Renewed Resilience will hire a business coach for them or take them shopping. Lounge: Our Renewed Lounge will be open, starting July 5, 2021, to community members to drop in, grab a coffee or tea, sit and read a book, study, work, create in our makerspace or just hang out and chat with other community members. - Renewed Makerspace: Whether you are running a small jewelry business or are an artist, photographer or looking for a space to host a creative event the Renewed makerspace is perfect for you. With six workstations available you can store your things for everyday use or you can simply drop in whenever you feel the need to get creative. WHAT IS THE MAIN GOAL FOR YOUR BIG IDEA? The Main Goal of Renewed Resilience is to create a positive, a non-judgemental community that helps support the overall mental health and wellness journeys of women and families in the community while working towards ending the stigma surrounding mental health. We will achieve this through providing available resources, collaborations with mental health and wellness practitioners and continuous mental health, connection based and creative workshops, support groups and more. WHO DO YOU HOPE TO IMPACT THE MOST WITH YOUR IDEA? We hope to positively impact women ages 16 + in our community, allowing them to become more confident, inspired, and know they are not alone on their mental health journeys and that whatever they are experiencing is ok and that there should be no shame around how they are feeling or what they are going through. With women being our primary focus, we understand the importance of supporting all genders and will also focus on helping guide and support all families of those struggling with mental health. HOW LONG WILL THIS IDEA TAKE TO IMPLEMENT? (FROM "LAUNCH TO "LANDING") As our space opens on July 5, 2021, Renewed Resilience will need around two- three months to connect, coordinate, market and execute workshops and support groups and events. WHAT ARE AREAS OF EXPERTISE THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL IN SUPPORTING YOUR PROJECT? To launch successfully Renewed Resilience needs: Support: to connect with practitioners who would be a perfect addition to the Renewed Vision, we would appreciate an introduction. Marketing & Strategy: We would love to have support with additional marketing and strategy on how to effectively promote and launch Renewed Resilience initiatives on a larger, creative level. ie. impactful video content. GIVE A BREAKDOWN OF HOW MUCH YOU THINK YOUR IDEA WILL COST: Project Expenses: Monthly Space Rent/ collaborator compensation: $2640 Community Makerspace Art Supplies: $500 Marketing/signage and printed resource material: $500 WHAT RESOURCES DO YOU ALREADY HAVE IN PLACE (PEOPLE, SKILLS, PAST-EXPERIENCE, FINANCES)? I have personal experience of living through depression, anxiety, PTSD and Chronic Illness allowing me to relate and understand the emotions and struggle behind mental health journeys. Renewed Resilience has already accessed resources such as financial coaching, marketing & strategy(first steps) , business guidance and rental support and management from The Light House Cowork, Next Level Consulting and the Market House. Renewed is operating with a small business loan and has a small stream of income coming in from the Renewed boutique. HAVE YOU OR COULD YOU PARTNER/COLLABORATE WITH OTHER GROUPS TO MAKE YOUR IDEA HAPPEN? Renewed has already partnered with a meditation practitioner, councillor and life coach/ Reiki Practitioner to start creating support within the community. The foundation of Renewed is built on connection and collaboration and is excited to start creating more community collaborations. My hope and dream for Renewed Resilience is to partner with organizations such as: FCSS The PCN Alberta Health The Rise Up Society local counseling clinics Glow Local School districts Mental health Canada And any other like minded, inclusive organizations. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOUR IDEA NEEDED MORE FUNDING TO SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCH? If my idea would need more funding I would create a Boutique campaign selling packages of product to help assist in raising more funds. WHAT MAKES YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT YOUR COMMUNITY? I was born and raised in Leduc and love seeing the positive changes that have happened year to year. It is important to me that the community stays connected & healthy so as a community we can thrive. Going through the experiences I have gone through has given me more of an insight to a world that is looked down upon in most cases and stigmatised. It is my passion to ensure that other women or any community member does not feel alone, shameful or judged for experiencing a mental health journey. We need to normalize mental health and make it a routine part of taking care of our whole body.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BIG IDEA... We want to provide free or low cost first aid education, awareness and/or workplace training in our community. The more informed a community is, the safer it came be! WHAT IS THE MAIN GOAL FOR YOUR BIG IDEA? We would be able to see and hear stories in the community about how knowledge empowered someone to take action to avoid a dangerous situation or to save a life. WHO DO YOU HOPE TO IMPACT THE MOST WITH YOUR IDEA? Everyone! Whether it is a preschooler to a parent of a newborn or a senior citizen, everyone has the power to make our community a safer place! We would especially love to reach groups that otherwise might not receive this important information or skills training such as vulnerable groups like the homeless or those in low income situations. HOW LONG WILL THIS IDEA TAKE TO IMPLEMENT? (FROM "LAUNCH TO "LANDING") We are ready to launch at any time. We are prepared to deliver our programs WHAT ARE AREAS OF EXPERTISE THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL IN SUPPORTING YOUR PROJECT? We would love help to get the word out about our project and further develop our programs so they can best meet the needs of the community. GIVE A BREAKDOWN OF HOW MUCH YOU THINK YOUR IDEA WILL COST: Each program has a cost attached to it as there are certain materials/supplies required for program delivery, as well as the wages of employees to consider. We would love to find a way to offer these programs in the community so we can still offer our employees an opportunity to work while donating our profits so this is a non-profit initiative. WHAT RESOURCES DO YOU ALREADY HAVE IN PLACE (PEOPLE, SKILLS, PAST-EXPERIENCE, FINANCES)? We already have trained and experience instructors available to go out into the community to deliver our programs. Unfortunately, many user groups who express interest just don’t have the resources to invest into these valuable programs. HAVE YOU OR COULD YOU PARTNER/COLLABORATE WITH OTHER GROUPS TO MAKE YOUR IDEA HAPPEN? We would love to partner with other community groups to find community members interested in our programs. Examples might be local schools, daycares, community groups (such as sports teams or Guides/Scouts), senior centres, homeless shelters, new parent groups and more just to name a few. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOUR IDEA NEEDED MORE FUNDING TO SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCH? We one day hope (post-Covid) that our business is stable enough to support a certain volume or no or low cost programs that we no longer need to seek out external supports to sustain this initiative. WHAT MAKES YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT YOUR COMMUNITY? We love where we live and we love the value of contributing to making our community a safe and stable place to live. Everyone in our community has value and we are all better when we can learn to share our talents, experiences and resources with each other. We hope to raise the next generation with this passion.

Resources we have in place to support this project are: Skilled Glass Artists to lead creative art days, Volunteers, Marketing and Communications tools and access to requires supplies along with 40 years of glass art expertise to bring forward to this project. HAVE YOU OR COULD YOU PARTNER/COLLABORATE WITH OTHER GROUPS TO MAKE YOUR IDEA HAPPEN? It would be great to partner with some of the local lumbar and hardware companies to sponsor some of the materials required for this project. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOUR IDEA NEEDED MORE FUNDING TO SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCH? Develop and seek sponsor support, explore cost saving measures in project supplies and size. WHAT MAKES YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT YOUR COMMUNITY? I have been a long time resident and an active community volunteer, through Rotary International and various board chairs/presidents and board members. Building on this experience to broaden the level of participation and community activism would be pivotal in the emotional and mental health recovery of this community.
